Glue
Have you ever noticed how much fun glue is? Sometimes I will squirt glue into the palm of my hand just so I can peel it off once it dries. If I have writing on my hand, it will peel that off too, so I can see a copy of my reminder on the sheet of glue. It also can be used as a mask for your face. I didn't believe that one at first, but I tried it, and it really works! It pulls off most of the dead skin on your face and leaves it nice and smooth. And...it only hurts a little!

Stormy Neighbor
Storms, storms, beautiful storms. I love storms. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed on the roof when there's lightning; I'm usually confined to the porch. Today, I was stuck inside because my mom thought the tornado was going to get me, despite the fact that it was super far away. Instead, I got to stare out my bedroom window into Bailey's bedroom window next door.
The more I think about it, the more I wish I had a fun neighbor. Having windows lined up would be so fun if I actually liked the person in the other room. We could do like in the movies and make a string to pass things across to each other and make tin can telephones. Sadly, a pig lives next door and my friends live fifteen minutes away. I suppose that's why they invented real telephones.

Tongues of Light
Once again, I was woken up by a chorus of birds. Luckily, I was actually supposed to be up about that time, so it didn't interrupt my sleep. They have beautiful songs, it's just the singing them at five in the morning that I have a problem with. The silence of spring nights is what I really love. Well, I suppose it isn't silence if I can hear the wind in the new leaves of the trees and the sounds of the river just across the street. I love leaving my windows open at night almost as much as I love sleeping. What I do love more than sleeping is waking up (late, of course) to an open window and refreshing room, plus the sound of some quieter birds. The sun shinning through my brown curtains can sometimes make my bookshelf look like it's on fire and the dancing tongues of light are beautiful to wake up to.
Inspirational quote of the week (since I forgot yesterday):
Inspirational quote of the week (since I forgot yesterday):
“See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
-Mother Teresa
(Tell that to the birds!)

Midnight Concert
I woke up this morning to birds singing their lungs out. It was like chorus class for the birds. It would've been beautiful if it wasn't five o'clock in the morning. I did manage to fall back asleep, but I really didn't appreciate being woke up on my one day to sleep in. The funny thing is, I actually got more sleep after being woken up than before. It was sort of like a little midnight concert, though I prefer midnight snacks.
I have taken a strange liking to do my homework in the morning instead of at night. Actually, it's more a liking to avoiding it at night. By the time I actually get around to doing some work, it's already close to eleven, so I just go to bed and get up early. I suppose I should start working on it before that and actually get it done the night before it's due.
